ALPHA ARM

The design constitutes of an upgraded hand placed exactly in a similar way which fits inside a joint that comprises of ½”x20 UNF threads to support it.

Now this joint is placed across a forearm instead of the aluminium plate which is designed in such a way that it could be assembled easily and it is coupled with M4x20 screws that keeps them intact:)

Lastly the hinge joints are connected by nut/bolt arrangement and can be attached directly to the cuff so that it gets mounted into the limb.

This forearm can be replaced by a short one which I have mentioned in the project video so that it could be interchanged for a below elbow patient and serve dual purpose. The below elbow structure then directly will be fitted into the cuff and can be sent for end usage. This prevents the design & manufacturing of multiple parts hence cost is saved.

The design & animation was made using SOLIDWORKS while rendering done in visualize & prototype was done using FDM based 3dPrinting

The Bookmark editor present in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform happened to be one of the best organizational tool to save and iterate design revisions which are inevitable during Product design. I saved my existing, file revisions of all parts & final assembly in my private collaborative space on platform hence file management was organized well:)
